On the contrary to the other - if you have used the sunglasses, the rough fabric, the sepia-tone and the contrast to create a spesific effect, i think you hit straight on. To me the image has an attitude, a sort of "f... off, i'm the boss!"-attitude, and as such a picture i like it. If that's the real Neil Bailey is an open question, but that's what i see in the portrait And i like the fact that it's so opposit of all the other "see-you-deep-in-the-eye"-portraits....totto

it is very original portrait and better with sepia..but as kombizz asserts, closing the eyes reduce the emotion...well doneregards

why DO you insist to be rough and mean !!
If you are a REAL photographer, you know that the eyes are the gates.
Now by covering those gates how on earth can I find the REAL Neil Bailey !!
Not bad, although that image is NOT my taste at all.
