Samedan No.3

The Evangelical Parish Church in the Upper Engadin village of Samedan is located far below this vantage point, in the main plaza. While its ornate tower was restored in the second half of the twentieth century, the original church dates from the late eighteenth century.

But the church is truly a “youngster” when compared to the somewhat more austere
Old Saint Peter Parish Church, high up in the village, whose Romanesque stone tower dates back to 1200.

This splendid autumn day in 2010 allowed me to appreciate these two quite different churches,
as well as many other facets of this beautifully situated Engadine village.
