Palácio Flutuante - Floating Palace / Series: Architecture in Rio.
Fiscal Island has a Castle in gotic style built in 1881. The green of its exterior walls (original colour) is preserved. The island is situated in Guanabara Bay, close to XV Square, downtown Rio.
In this building was celebrated the last Imperial Ball before the Republic proclamation in 1899.
It is a Historic Museum in a military area (Navy) opened to visitors.
