Holmes County is another significant Amish settlement aside Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.
It is always exciting to watch different worlds not only meeting, but interacting respectfully.

This picture has been taken across Ashery Country Store, a well-known Amish bulk store.

Dieses Foto kann man sich lange ansehen. Zunächst die vielen Oberleitungen, für uns in Deutschland ein ungewohntes Bild. Dann der alte Einspänner (wer hat hier eigentlich Vorfahrt) Wird das Reservepferd hinter der Kutsche hergefahren? Du siehst, wenn man etwas länger betrachtet, kommen Ideen zur Bildaussage.

Lancaster County haben wir auch einmal besucht und haben gestaunt und erinnern uns gerne. Ist schon 2005 gewesen, aber scheinbar ist die Zeit dort immer noch stehen geblieben.
