If anyone can tell me how to blur the b/g more while still keeping the subject sharp I would really appreciate it.

a sharp focus on a near foregroundwill result in a nicely blurred far-away background -
because this is not always possible
in the modern world
a good collection
(of sometimes very expensive) lenses
and photoshop
were invented ...
