Löwendenkmal in Monreal
Ein Zeugnis spätgotischer Steinmetzkunst.
Ab Ende des 15. Jahrhunderts stand es vor den Toren der großen Burg oberhalb von Monreal. Wegen der vier Löwen, die die Zufahrt zur Burg "bewachten", nannte man die große Burg später auch "Löwenburg".

An impressive monument where the earthly lions are combined with Jesus on the cross ... seems a perfect place for it in the middle of the bridge ... very fine your capture with the details of the picturesque houses and the green hill in the background !!wish you a relaxing weekend,

Die Löwen sind gut an der Säule festgemacht.Man kann demnach gefahrlos daran vorbei gehen.
Schade, dass der untere Bildbereich
etwas zu dunkel ist.

zugegebn, ich habe die Löwen erst auf den zweiten Blick erkannt.Ein schönes Zeitdokument - Dein Bild.
