Little Asby view.
This was 2004, and we booked a holiday, (or rather, the good lady wife did!) at Little Asby. If you are seeking solitude, you could do worse. No pub, no shops, nothing. Perfect ! if you want to get away from it all ! About 4 miles from Kirkby Steven, 6 from Appleby, not too far for an outing.
It was a great base for excursions, and believe me, I did my best to cram in as much as I could, but a secondhand American Hurricane decided to pay us a visit (what was left of it, which was considerable) But in the eye of the storm, I managed to capture this image.
This is limestone country, hence the whiteness of the walls, but the blueness of the sky is natural. Cropping the scene has helped to create the interest, for me at any rate, but this is a real place after all.
