" Das Rückengefieder der Nilgans weist eine rotbraune Färbung auf. Die vergleichsweise „bunte“ Färbung der adulten Tiere stellt sich mit etwa vier bis fünf Monaten ein, wenn sich Augen- und Brustfleck voll entwickelt haben. Die Färbung des Schnabels variiert von blassrot bis tiefrot. Gefangenschaftsflüchtlinge weisen meist sehr rote Schnäbel auf. Fliegende Nilgänse haben ähnlich wie die Rostgänse ein großes weißes Armflügelfeld. Die Vollmauser der adulten Vögel setzt gegen Ende der Fortpflanzungszeit ein. Sie beginnt mit dem Wechsel des Kleingefieders. Danach werden die Schwingenfedern abgeworfen und die Steuerfedern gewechselt."

"The back plumage of the Egyptian goose has a reddish-brown color, and the comparatively "colored" coloring of the adult animals occurs at about four to five months, when the eye and the pimple have developed fully. The color of the beak varies from pale red to deep red. Flying Nile geese have a large white wing field, while the full-grown adult bird starts towards the end of the reproductive period, starting with a change of petite flesh, after which the wing feathers are thrown off and the control springs are replaced. "

Das sieht schon recht spektakulär aus, wie sich die Gans von der Mauer in die Tiefen oder das Wasser stürzt. Dabei hat man das Gefühl, als schaute sie einem direkt in die Augen.VG Lichtlein
