Der Leuchtturm von Kinnaird Head liegt im Ort Fraserburg im Osten von Schottland auf einer kleinen Landnase. Er sichert die südliche Einfahrt in den Moray Firth. Wer den Leuchtturm besichtigen möchte, der muss sich im schottischen Leuchtturmmuseum gleich neben melden, indem es noch viel mehr zu sehen gibt, als in den Leuchtturm hinein passen würde!
Seit 1991 ist der Leuchtturm außer Betrieb und wird von einem kleineren, moderneren in dierkter Nachbarschaft ersetzt.
Seine Laterne ist mit einem Tuch verhangen, damit der Sonnenschein durch die starke Linse keinen Brand erzeugen kann.

Kinnaird Head Lighthouse is sitting on a little headland amidst of the small town of Fraserburgh on the east coast of Scotland. It marks the southern entry to the Moray Firth. If you want to have a look into the lighthouse, you need to contact the Museum of Scottish Lighthouses that is situated just around the corner. And there is a lot of things to discover there - much more than would fit inside the lighthouse.
Since 1991, a newer, smaller and more modern lighthouse has taken over its duty.
Its lantern is covered with a white sheet to avoid that sunflight directed by the big lens could cause any harm.
