Hard to survive
Only a bit more than 3 million people are living in Mongolia, not much compared to estimated 50 million herd animals.
During winter, temperatures are down to -40°C.
In the winter of 2009 and 2010, almost 10 million animals died of starvation and cold.
Mongolia is amongst one of the countries with the lowest population density, around 1,9 inhabitants/km²
