Especially in India, where Buddhism comes from, you must be prepared to come across examples for the truth of this Buddhist teaching frequently.
In India is only one Taj Mahal but millions of people suffering from leprosy, the illness of those living in poverty.
I know today is Karfreitag. That's why I upload this picture today.
Taken in Madurai, South India, near the main entrance to Shri Meenakshi Temple.
So many just passing by, not even look at him.............

hmh, bin...knollen-nasen-theorie stimmt schon:-) be kind to animals ist schön...und doch hinkt das alles in meinen augen. overcoming the suffering for food heisst overcoming den hunger?... ach, und überhaupt isses doch schwer, auf diesem weg zu philosophieren...fact is, i really like your pics and your humor as well

@Ilona.Although you got somewhat mixed up with Hinduism and Buddhism I won't dare to express that there isn't any truth in your comment. Aber naturally sowohl in Buddhism as in Hinduism there is the rule that you should help as this will improve your own karma and therefore next life. Especially in Buddhism is the important rule to be kind and helpful. In Buddhist countries you often can read: "Be kind to animals by not eating them.":-).
The conditions of life you are living in are just the result how you did behave in your former life, with the Christian begriff laueterung it hasn't much to do. Gautama Buddha did teach: "To overcome the suffering you have to overcome die begierden."
For my own life as a Sikh I write two practical examples: If you don't smoke, you won't get eine raucherbein. If you don't drink alcoholics, you won't get ein knollen-nase :-))).

der buddhismus ist eine sehr unbarmherzige religion, die dieses leid ja als selbst verschuldet hinstellt. da man nun ja in diesem leben die möglichkeit hat, durch dieses hindurchleiden ein neues besseres leben (vielleicht..denn man macht ja wieder fehler) im nächsten dasein zu erhalten, ist hilfe absolut nicht nötig, denn sie würde ja die läuterung behindern....*seufz*...buddhismus hat eben mehrere facetten...und die menschen leiden weiterbin...ich mag deine pics

das foto ist sehr bewegend und macht wütend auf die zustände, die solche schicksale bewirken.die schlechte technische qualität des fotos lässt es jedoch wie aus den 60ern erscheinen und nicht wie ein dokument unserer zeit.
das schafft abstand ... leider.

I never understood the ignoranz of the rich India.They never take care of the poor people.
But its not only in India. In other Religions, even in Christian (perhaps Muslim Branches, there I dont know enough) brunches, some people Think, when someone is poor its his own fault, because he is bad one.

Bitter. Aber eben real. Der trägt sein Kreuz nicht einen Tag lang sondern lebenslänglich.Das wirkliche Problem ist, dass man mit Hilfe den Einzelnen viel zu schwer erreichen kann, wenn man nicht vor Ort ist Es müsste wie bei den Kindern für die man Patenschaften übernehmen kann bzw. sozusagen einen Versorgungsvertrag abschließt eine Möglichkeit geben, gezielt einem Menschen zu helfen und zu sagen DEM da hinten, dem möchte ich gerne etwas Gutes tun, statt an Organisationen zu zahlen.Wäre das Elend des Einzelnen personifizierter für den Einzelnen HIER, der helfen könnte wäre es einfacher nicht nur zu sagen "oh wie grausam, wie furchtbar und betroffen zu sein und zugleich so verdammt hilflos. mensch bin !heute abend war ich, als ´ungläubig´ gläubiger beim gottedienst in der kirche - aber all das, was da erzählt wird, wird von dem foto auf den prüfstand gestellt . . . !
