Galloway bull

The Galloway is one of the world’s oldest breeds of beef cattle, named after the Galloway region in Scotland, where it originated.

It is now found in many parts of the world and often used as help in nature reserves to increase the diversity of the landscape by its very sophisticated way of grazing.

It’s a social, friendly animal that always lives in a herd.
Being very well adapted to living outdoors it requires little care and can adapt trouble free to extreme icy cold temperatures in winter.

Galloways do not need any human help with calving, must never be milked and find enough food all year long so that supplementary feeding is not necessary.

The bull in the shot weighs 800 kg (flies not included)

Dutch name : Galloway rund
German name : Galloway-Rind
Latin name : Bos taurus

Location : Nature reserve ‘Buitengoor’ at Mol (Belgium)

I had no clue what kind of cow it was - great your information, Mark, and I very much appreciate your link. If I have a question I will come to you and you will provide me with it, that easy, you do the research and I "consume" your information. Thanks. Gilbert

...add the flies and you surely have 50 kg more :-))
I always wonder how they manage not to get mad with all those flies around their eyes and ears.

A very fine portrait of this strong bull ... framed with the tree trunks as if he were looking out of a window, and all the visiting flies a bit sad looking. thank you for the interesting information!!!
    greetings, Adele
