Thanks for your quick reply! I did not expect this to be a winding tower, as the engine house on the top looks relatively small and the whole tower is relatively light - looking almost 'fragile'.

The tower on the right hand side hostes the winding engine to run an skip to pull up the coal. The head frame on the left hand side was only for the miners and small wagons. This colliery had two pits.

Especially the tower on the righthand side is really interesting. Can you give some information on it's functionality?
