A really great capture Dominic. Maybe there is something in the comment on the mast. If there IS noise, which I cannot see, I picked up the following tip for dealing with it: Select the sky with the magic wand - tolerence 32. In channels, select blue. Apply Noise > median filter radius 12px. Go to Green channel. Apply median filter with rdius that just loses noise. Do same with red channel. Back to RGG and it should be smooth with gradating hue, darkening at top. Select only areas with little detail in flat colours. (Sharing my increasing knowledge of PShop.)

Thanks all for your comments, I was aware of the noise on this, however it is a little noise and not deafening,hope it does not detract too much from the pic.
