CSX Freight Crossing Washington Channel
In the late afternoon sunshine of a day in late spring, a southbound CSX freight train, led by a GE ES44AH
diesel electric locomotive and an older (somewhat smokier) companion, rumbles across the Washington
Channel on its way to the Long Bridge over the Potomac River, which will carry the train into Virginia.
The view, from East Potomac Park, which lies between the Washington Channel and the
Potomac, was captured with a film-era KMZ TAIR 11A 135mm f/2.8 lens on my Canon 5D MkIV.
