Cholla Garden Sunrise, Joshua Tree National Park
One of my last film photographs...before I invested in the new digital slr. Sunrise in the Cholla Garden in Joshua Tree National Park, California, is absolutely worth the 4am wakeup tap on the tent.

HahaI don't think I'll ever give up the film camera...I still like comparing film images to digital images. So I will definitely 'think about' it. :-)
I actually had to seriously repair this image--in the original, the top half of the sky was obscured (i.e. blackened) by, I think, the bill of the cap I was wearing. So I had to recreate and blend the sky with the existing sky. Even some of the top-most cholla needles were affected by the penumbra of the shadow so I had to pixel by pixel reconstruct a few of those needles too. I've shown people the before and after and they're amazed.
