CHIGUIRE - Hydrochoerus hydrochaeris
El Chigüire (Hydrochoerus hydrochaeris) es una especie de roedor de la familia de los cávidos. Es el roedor viviente de mayor tamaño y peso del mundo. Habita en manadas en regiones de climas tropicales y templados siempre cerca del agua. Su nombre científico hydrochaeris, significa 'puerco de agua' en griego.
