Bog Asphodel
Bog Asphodel with its star-like yellow flowers is a typical swamp plant, but has become rather rare nowadays, largely as a result of the widespread drainage of wet habitats.
Standing on the Red List of threatened species !
It was quite a hell of a job to photograph it in the middle of the swamp, but I got it !
Location : Nature reserve ‘Hohes Venn’ (Baraque Michel - Belgium)
Dutch name : Beenbreek
German name : Beinbrech (syn. Moorlilie)
Latin name : Narthecium ossifragum
