Ballonstart
Ballonstart des Augsburger Ballonsportvereins auf dem Gersthofer Ballonstartplatz . Hier sind es Gasballone, keine Heißluftballone.
Der Gasballon ist ein Ballon, der aus einer dünnen, gasdichten Hülle wie zum Beispiel Latex oder Seidengewebe mit Gummihaut besteht. Er wird mit einem Gas gefüllt, das eine geringere Dichte als die ihn umgebende Luft besitzt und somit zu einem statischen Auftrieb führt. Für dieses so genannte Traggas kommen hauptsächlich Wasserstoff (H2) und Helium (He), in Frage.
