Galina, it is up to you to interpret this picture the way you consider suitable. I am convinced, that photographs (like this) get life and sense out of a public reception, becoming common property that way (although the photographer keeps the copyright). The more interpretations a picture allows and gets, the more it was worth to be taken.
But may I give you just the point that made me take this picture? It is the confrontation of the trivial behaviour of a stressed tourist couple (that may explain the significance of the Bauch) with the very pathetic appearance of the marble socket of an Emperors monument. I experienced it as the clash between two very different realities (or irrealities?). For me it does not matter, what the words mean (My love to my peoples), important I consider just the fact, that they sound very pathetic.

The picture is very well made. But what about idea and philosophical sense of it? What does it shows or symbolize? First of all you throw the glance at the Bauch of sitting man. And this beautiful technique of yours makes his Bauch even more significant,
what is the sense of this picture? What does this technically perfect picture tells me?

Patrik: Ich glaube, wenn ich die Schrift weggelassen hätte, dann wäre doch der atmosphärische Clash verlorengegangen, wenn die Trivialität des Touristenalltags auf das Pathos eines Kaiserdenkmals trifft. Martin hat das ganz richtig erkannt.
