The Ribbed Funnel is a rather rare fungus that likes to grow on calcareous forest soils.
It has a distinct odour of bitter almonds.
Some of you might think this fungus is deformed or some parts have been eaten.
Not so. What you see here is the normal mature stage of the Ribbed Funnel.
Dutch name : Geribbelde Trechterzwam
German name : Kerbrandiger Trichterling
Latin name : Clitocybe costata
What an intrigueing shape and how very beautiful .... how lucky you are to find these rare specimens for us, Mark. An excellent capture and presentation !!!
greetings, Adele
