november: time to wilt and say good-bye for the old rose that had led a full and happy life throught the summer. so it stopped its growing efforts, let its petals crinkle and fade and prepared itself to die. the young and boisterous bud that was her neighbor, though, still stubbornly fought for his survival. "the poor fool!", the old rose sighed. "why doesn't he give up and surrender to the frost? come down here, little one!" she gestured. but he wouldn't. he just kept growing on and on, upwards toward the sky, hoping to make it through the thick fog to be warmed by the mighty sun, not knowing it was hopeless! but then one morning the veteran rose, who could barely feel her wrinkled petals anymore, heard a joyful cry: "grandma! grandma rose!!! i made it through the fog! it's nice and warm up here! i'm starting to bloom!!" the old rose was way too far gone by then. but she died with a smile on her face the very day her budding neighbor reached the sun… ; )))))greetings, sabine.
