Mother's Helper

She goes to school to learn and to become a domestic manager of a house hold when she is sold into another family in a pre-arranged marriage. There are so many things the west frowns on and pours millions of dollars to stop. Slave trade into prostitution is one. IN relationship to that problem in INdia and around the world. The numbers are small in relation to India a Super Power allowing it's population to sell off their daughters to other families in prearranged marriages as children for a hud full of money and position. Class has nothing to do with it. It happens across the board. MIllions of girls are sold an on non profit for humanity says nothing against it. Where is the voice of women's rights?.

That is why photojournalist and documentary photographers are so important, they bring attention to the issue to the masses through their images. Now the photographer that wants to bring attention to the issue has to get the photographs to where the public can see them and finding an editor willing to publish the story is another difficult issue.
Take a look at some of the stuff on Burn Magazine.

boys are born to pursue their dreams. girls are born to get real. or to pursue the dreams of others. yes, someone should definitely stand up and do something about it! but i guess it's particularly hard to fight something that's (ignorantly? cynically??) considered a widely spread "good old tradition". greetings, sabine.
