Barnacle Goose
The Barnacle Goose is a beautiful medium-sized goose with a white face, black head, neck and upper breast. Wings and back are silver-gray with black-and-white bars that look like they are shining when the light reflects on it.
Location : Nature reserve ‘Noordelijk Eiland’ at Wintam (Belgium) where since the last decade countless birds can be spotted that are normally only present in coastal areas !
Dutch name : Brandgans
German name : Weißwangengans (syn. Nonnengans)
Latin name : Branta leucopsis
