On top of the rock stands a belfry as a proud and defian guard but, despite the awesome view, seems lonesome, miserable and deserted, desperately asking for the rest of the church to match his company....

takes a sturdy one to not lose heart in such a rugged environment! but the little belfry is standing its ground – what else could it do? ; ) – letting the sunshine settle on its walls and make it feel blessed and not forgotten among the rebelliously dynamic looking ravines, rocks, cliffs that surround it. nature speaks in this image, and it's not a modest whisper but a roar of triumph! greetings, sabine.

a sentinel withstanding time and the harsh rocky surroundings by itself ... to ring the bell must have been penance - or privilege - for the monks !!!
