This species always grows in clusters (rarely alone) and can be found from spring to late autumn and even in the winter months when weather conditions are mild.

Dutch name : Stobbezwammetje
German name : Stockschwämmchen
Latin name : Kuehneromyces mutabilis (synonym: Pholiota mutabilis)
