Streets of Odessa

This is one of the many pages from my autumn travel in Odessa.
2007, october.
It was too cloudly day with no sun and nothing special except different people and signages on old bulding which is to close with wedding ceremony house. Contrast with poor woman and Till Eulenspiegel name (signage on the entrance to the building) was very suddenly and I stopped for the moment trying to get this strange impulse...

Poznaje to zdjecie... to z tym nazwiskiem Till Eulenspiegel Tak czy tak niewiem skad sie tam wzielo. W srodku jest Muzeum figur woskowych jak odczytalem.

what a great street shot and scene! great juxtaposition of the family on the right getting ready to spend some money in one of the rather exclusive looking stores, and the poor lady on the bench holding up her paper cup to receive some "coins of charity"! what's really amazing to me, though, is that beautifully ornamented "til'-ulenshpigel' logo": as a northern german native ; )) i'm familiar with the name and the stories/tall-tales connected with the eulenspiegel character! in fact, i'm not far from the city of mölln, where according to legend, till eulenspiegel was buried! so to see his name on a store in odessa is really strange and interesting to me! greetings, sabine.
