Serifos is just a tiny bit of rock among the company of Cyklades and yet an island with history extending back to the 3rd millenium BC.The island thrived at various periods mostly Byzantine and of Venetian occupation. Typical Cykladian with trees, grass and ..anything green in extinction but with old Byzantines churches and beautiful shores.
In the photo, the capital Chora, a picturesque village perched at the higher point of the island as was the habit in many islands in order to survive hostile attacks especially by pirates.

A superb scene showing how this place sits atop the highest ground as well as how the people worked the land to make a living and grow their food.Superb details and good contrast as well as being well composed with the road that leads us into the scene.

an amazing location and again full of so much history ...terrasses and houses climbing up the mountain with the churches on the top the crowning glory ... a splendid image in black and white, so detailed, and with the road one imagines going up highter and right to the top !!!
