Hello and thank you for visiting!

I am a writer, photographer, voice-over artist, and broadcaster, in no particular order - depends on which of those activities I might be engaged in at the moment. I am unabashedly romantic and unapologetically sentimental. I am old enough to remember Walter Cronkite reporting the assassination of JFK, as well as when popular music was good...and good music was popular. I share my digs with a big sturdy gray and white, very conversational cat named Mewer, who tolerates my proclivities toward Kaempfert, Rachmaninoff, Mahler, and movies with explosions. I love being anywhere Alpine. I enjoy trains and airplanes, and get attached to my cars. I love quality music and good movies. When I come back, I want to be Cary Grant in “North by Northwest.” Or any actor if I could play opposite Myrna Loy.

My photography includes Alpine and other landscapes, European, Canadian, and American cityscapes, including night scenes, railroad and aviation subjects, people, pets, the passing scene.

In other words, I am easily inspired when a camera is at hand.

In exhibiting my work, I derive special pleasure in sharing with others the fruits of those otherwise private moments of looking through the viewfinder.

I am pleased to announce my PROCRASTINATORS' CALENDAR is NOW AVAILABLE. Actually, its name is "Photographically Yours, 2012." The "procrastinators" reference has to do with my own log-jam of projects in late 2011, which frustrated my best intentions to create the calendar in a more timely fashion!

It contains twelve of my favorite images (including Kodachromes - See "An Ongoing Project" below), faithfully reproduced on a heavy, high-gloss card stock, with a sturdy spiral binding.

There are Alpine (and other) landscapes, vibrant Nightscapes, even a rainy evening "Dreamscape" for April. Plus trains, airplanes, and hot air balloons, to name a few more categories.

The calendar is available for $15.95 USD (reflecting a discount for it taking its proud place on your waiting wall toward the end of January!) plus actual postage, payable through PayPal. AN ONGOING PROJECT: Kodachrome!
When Kodak announced the discontinuance of their venerable Kodachrome slide films, I obtained a modest stock of my favorite, Kodachrome 25, and promptly stored it in my freezer for the first opportunity to do some landscape work that would do the most justice to my "Last Hurrah with Kodachrome!" And, as the last remaining Kodachrome lab in the world had announced it would cease K-14 processing in December 2010, I planned a return trip in the Autumn of that year to the Swiss Alps, a favorite setting (and season) over the years for shooting Kodachrome.

My wishes for superb weather conditions - my Kodachrome "stash" deserved no less! - were abundantly realized, with inviting autumn colors, as well as snow in the upper elevations I visited, Corvatsch and Diavolezza.

I have begun posting the results of my Kodachrome "final chapter" with images from Switzerland and Hamburg, and will continue doing so for some time to come. Scanning Kodachrome faithfully is somewhat more demanding than with other slide films, and this "labor of love" must be fitted in among other projects, but I invite you to check back often.

And a note to visitors searching out specific subject matter...
For the next while, I'll be placing ALL Kodachrome images in a new "Kodachrome!" folder. Thus, if you'd like to return to my "Eiger-Mönch-Jungfrau Massif" landscape, it has been temporarily re-located in that Kodachrome folder, as will be all existing and newly added images from Kodachrome transparencies.

I shoot both film and digital, and firmly believe the "best" camera is the one I have at hand when inspiration strikes.

I hope you'll enjoy sampling my work, and I welcome your comments if a photo should inspire you.

Many thanks Steve, for your comment and added quote. I love it! I too remember Walter Cronkite and the Thin Man series with William Powell and Myrna Loy. One of the lines from the series. Myrna saying to Powell ....Honey are you as sleep? Powell....YES....Myrna....Good than I want to talk to you. They had a wonderful chemistry together. Just like Tracy and Hepburn. And as for me I would have loved to play the leading actress opposite Clark Gable. Best Wishes to you. ~ Linda
