The Living Forest (219) : Rowan
Now that all autumn leaves are fallen, it are berries that make the colours in the winter forest, like these of the Rowan.
Those bright red berries are an important food resource for many birds (especially Redwing, Fieldfare, Blackbird, Mistle Thrush, Waxwing) which in turn disperse the seeds in their droppings back to nature.

Latin name : Sorbus aucuparia
