This bird with his sleek and smooth looking plumage lives in flocks around Vancouver all year 'round, but in 40 years of living here this is the first one I ever spotted in the woods around Burnaby Lake

We get them here in winters when in the north berries are scarce but here plentiful. I like their call. A very good photo, Adele!
