Lenten Rose
Despite the very cold freezing weather and lack of sunshine, the first winter bloomers can already be spotted in nature, like this Lenten Rose.
While blooming early in the year, the frost-resistant Lenten Rose brings early colour in the mostly grey and dark winter months.
Despite its English name, this flower does not belong to the rose family but to the genus Ranunculus.
Dutch name : Oosters Nieskruid
German name : Orientalische Nieswurz (auch Frühlings-Christrose genannt)
Latin name : Helleborus orientales
