Leipzig Hauptbahnhof ist mit einer Grundfläche von 83.640 Quadratmetern der flächenmäßig größte Kopfbahnhof Europas.
Er gilt als der letzte Großbahnhof des 19. und als erster des 20. Jahrhunderts.
