This plant with its striking purple springflowers is native to western, central and southern Europe.
In Belgium however it’s a very rare species but I found them growing in the ‘Wolfsbush’ at Montenau.
The plant is highly toxic, in particular for dogs !
Dutch name : Wildemanskruid
German name : Kuhschelle
Latin name : Pulsatilla vulgaris
what an irresisitble combination of purple and green – very springlike and somehow very elegant, too! i've never seen them grow in the wild, i think, so they must be rare in my part of the world, too ; ))! as always, you've captured them in such beautiful light! amazing how very furry their stems and leaves are – early spring bloomers wearing a natural winter coat! ; )) greetings, sabine.
A very fine capture of this whole group of brightly lit Pasque Flowers ... so delicate their fine hairs, so well defined their little stamen !!!
greetings, Adele
