The stark tree stands out clearly while the ones further away disappear in the mist. The word "muffled" comes to mind.
I like your playing around with the colours. Just wish I knew how one does it :-).

great misty and mysterious mood! it's as though the great big tree in the foreground is slowly "fading away", and the trees further back and lost in the fog seem to mirror those different stages of "vanishing"… like the "touch" of green and ocher that's still "lingering" in the almost monochrome shot, too! hugs, sabine.
