Guangdong Province with its capital Guangzhou

... den Chinesen besiedelt wurde und noch ein weites, unbewohntes Gebiet war. Weitere wichtige Städte in Guangdong sind Shantou, Shenzhen, Zhanjiang und Zhuhai. Guangdong liegt an der Küste des südchinesischen Meeres und wird in seiner Mitte vom Perlfluss geteilt. Im Norden begrenzen die Nan-Ling-Berge die Provinz. Am Westende erstreckt sich die Leizhou-Halbinsel, vor deren Südspitze die Insel Hainan liegt. Die Nachbarprovinzen sind Fujian, Guangxi, Hainan, Hunan, Jiangxi sowie Hongkong und Macao. Guangdong gehört zu den am dichtesten besiedelten Provinzen Chinas.
