This picture was taken on Miyajima a very beautiful little island in Japan across from Hiroshima. The island is famous for its red gate in the ocean which welcomes the visitors and for the intact aspect of the ancient buildings, temples and shrines. Traveling through the island is like traveling back in time. On Miyajima there are thousands of deer roaming around and trying to get food from the tourists which can be carefully approached (they seem to really like eating also maps and towels...better be cautious!). In the middle of the island there's a mountain. You can either walk up to the top or take the chairlift. Walking is much better of course since you can enjoy the wonderful view around (the ocean, the nature and the other small islands as in this picture). This part of miyajima is populated by monkeys (my picture "bored...waiting for the monolith" was taken there) who can be, again, very friendly, but also extremely cheeky and bold...Respect is always the key! :-) This little place is beautiful in the summer also because of the festivals, with lanterns and lights, traditional music and dances. Hallo Andy!Was für eine schöne Landschaft! Mir gefällt der gewählte Blickpunkt sehr, der leichte Nebel hinterlässt einen verträumenten Eindruck.
So viel Grün, das tut dem Auge gut!
