The Living Forest (221) : Wood Pigeon
The Wood Pigeon is the largest pigeon in Europe and lives mostly in the forest.
In winter however, this bird is often leaving the forest in search of food.
Icy temperatures below zero and a bloody cold wind made this ‘half frozen’ wood pigeon sit motionless with all its feathers set up as insulation against the winter coldness.

Latin name : Columba palumbus
