Eternal view

The picture shows a view from the castle ruin Altes Schloss in Baded Baden Germany and was taken with a Lumix LX3 last week. I was processed with Capture NX 2.0 and Color Efex Pro 3.0. The frame was added in Photoshop Elements.

I know that you are not supposed to compose pictures with a very bright spot near the edge of the fram but I really liked this view and cropping out the left side of the picture means loosing the sense of grandness that the letterbox format offers.

a very beautiful shot and scenery! and wow, what a view!! it really does seem to lead your eyes "eternally" off into the distance! what i like best about this shot, though, is how it offers the eyes a choice between two different "ways of exploration": 1. the already mentioned straight-forward look, following the trees, fields and clouds from the vantage point to the horizon and 2. the "vertical look", up the rock, and up those stairs, into the dark and alluring cavity of the window to venture further into the depth, niches, and mysteries of the castle… greetings, sabine.
