About me

Updated Jan 15, 2008:

In the meantime I have been using the Canon 5D for more than a year and exclusively shoot with Canon primes (the slow, non-L ones), where my favorit is the 35/2.

My main area of photographic exploration is panorama photography. I enjoy to capture multiple frames and assemble panoramas into 2:1, 3:1 or even higher aspect ratios. It is exciting to assemble several shots into an image that looks real but displays a scene that has never really occured.

Mostly I shoot with the use of a tripod and L-bracket which helps avoiding parallax errors and also use a 360Precision head with the 15/2.8 Fish Eye lens for full spherical panoramas.

My subjects are mostly street and lanscape scenes in HK, often taken after sunset, displaying the multitude of artificial lighting in this metropolis.

Inspiration comes for me from photographers such as Andreas Gursky, George Crewdson, Aaron Hobson and from the publication Lenswork.

Since January 2006 I am member of the Cathay Camera Club in Hong Kong, so if you ever should find yourself in HK, feel free to visit the club. Details under

---------------------

Canon 300D and 20/2.8, 24/2.8, 50/1.8II, 85/1.8, 28-135 IS, 100/2.8 Macro, 200/2.8L, 1.4x and 2x converter, Sigma Super 500, extension tubes etc.

Usually capture in Raw and process via PS CS2, print myself on Canon 9950i (A3+)

For me the final print is the goal and I constantly try to improve my workflow.

Am Scheffelberg hab ich auch mal studiert. Auch ein Matrikel, das mit 96 anfing. Den Rest weiß ich allerdings nicht mehr... ;-)

    Best regards,
