I'm trying to develop my photographic techniques, I'm trying to improve my eye for detail.

I'm doing this by trying to capture interesting images from my boring town, I don't have the money to travel to interesting locations (being a student an all).

Please constructively critic my pictures and let me know what I could have done better, what you would have done etc... Thats the reason I'm posting my efforts on this site.

Equipment: Canon 400D with kit lens (any donations for a new lens would be welcome!)
