Nathan Beckner

While growing up in the small town of Flora in Northwest Indiana, Nathan Beckner did not foresee his future as a fashion photographer. At that time, his artistic interests centered on music and painting. Nathan left Flora to attend the University of Miami on saxophone scholarship and a declared major in Marine Biology. As his studies progressed however, his inherent need to create art led him to become enamored with photography. Nathan spent one year of study at the University of Westminster in London and obtained his Bachelor of Fine Arts in photography from the University of Miami in 1998. After graduation, Nathan set off for Europe working in Milan, Italy and Hamburg, Germany further building his portfolio. In 2000 Nathan returned to Miami beginning work with Ocean Drive Magazine. After a year with the magazine Nathan decided to start out on his own. Currently working freelance, Nathan's dedication to his art has not ceased. He now shoots for a range of American magazines and advertising campaigns and constantly searches for new ideas with which he can capture the sophisticated presence of human desire seen through his style.
