North & South Korea

Korea is a historical country situated on the Korean Peninsula in East Asia between China and Japan. It is characterised by a distinct people (Koreans) and language (Korean). Archaeological evidence indicates that people have lived in the land for the past 12,000 - 18,000 years. For much of the past millennium, Korea was politically a single state, which led to the development of a fairly homogeneous and unique culture.
