Die Republik Ecuador (República del Ecuador) liegt im Nordwesten von Südamerika. Grenzländer: Im Norden Kolumbien, im Osten und Süden Perú, im Westen der Pazifische Ozean. Ecuador liegt am Äquator und hat vier unterschiedliche Zonen: Der Küstenbereich, die Anden, das Amazonas-Tiefland und die Galápagos Inseln weit im Pazifik gelegen. Hauptstadt von Ecuador ist Quito welche 2.850 m über dem Meeresspiegel liegt. Von Nord nach Süd verläuft mitten durch Ecuador die Andenkette.

Ecuador is situated at the equator and has four different zones: the rimland, the andes, the lowlands of the Amazonas and the Galápagos Islands far in the Pacific Ocean. The capital city is Quito which lays 2.850 m above the sea level. From north to south there are the Andean Mountains.
