About me
I am Mr. Sumangala Rajapakse - Nikon Wildlife Photographer / Researcher from Colombo 05 - SRI LANKA. I am highly interested in WILDLIFE Photography.
By Profession, I am a Government Educationist and currently serving in the Government Education Sector for about 22 Years of continuous service. Since schooling, I had a deep interest in Bird life and Mammals.Reptiles.Insects and many more. Both my parents worked in the Government Health Sector of
Sri Lanka and I had a golden opportunity to shift to different locations in the country with them. Here my curiosity aroused and step by step studied and did Research about Nature and Wildlife in Sri Lanka.
Due to my immense interest, I studied WILDLIFE CONSERVATION and MANAGEMENT at the Open University of Sri Lanka. Also completed Diploma in Archaeological Heritage from the University of Kelaniya - Sri Lanka.
With great happiness would like to note that I am a pioneer in establishing the
WILDLIFE TRUST PHOTOGRAPHY ASSOCIATION in Sri Lanka.
Since I am actively involved in Nature and Wildlife Photography I am a Life Member of the Field Ornithology Group of Sri Lanka - F.O.G.S.L at the Department of Zoology - University of Colombo Sri Lanka. Then a Long-standing Member at the
Wildlife & Nature Protection Society of Sri Lanka - The oldest conservation society in
Sri Lanka. With relevance to Archaeology, I am a LIFE MEMBER at the Archaeological Society of Sri Lanka.
