About me

I have been taking pictures for over 50 years virtually all over the world. My first decent camera was a Voigtlander Vitomatic B, a fixed lens with rangefinder in 1958. I graduated to a Pentax Spotmatic in 1973 and moved to digital with a Nikon 4500, point and shot, in 2003. Made the jump to a DSLR with a Pentax K100D in 2007 and upgraded to a K20d in 2009.

I concentrate now mainly on landscapes, closeups of wild flowers and macro.
My specialty, if that is the right word, is reflections and abstract images.
Some of my more recent work can be seen on my web pages at www.rkirkley.zenfolio.com

I live in the province of Ontario in Canada in an area known as the "Land of Lakes".
