Yak herd crosses the paths
In the Orkhon Mountains in the province of Övörkhangai, this herd of yaks crossed us in the wild. A herd dog, which can be seen in the foreground on the left, keeps the group of animals together.
Övörkhangai is one of the 21 aimags (aimag is a Mongolian administrative division). In the Naiman Nuur Nature Park one encounters many such animal herds of yaks, Bactrian camels, horses, goats and sheep and about fifty different bird species.
