we walked on the beach from Trail 6 to Trail 3 - not easy climbing over rocks and logs - the incoming tide on one side, the steep cliffs on the other ...
and here some interestng Wikipedia information:
The earliest evidence of Indigenous peoples inhabitation dates back to 13,000 B.C. . The beach is reclaimed from the sea in a joint venture with the Canadian Army and UBC to train cadets for beach landings in WWI, hence the presence of the "instrument towers". In the Great Depression, nude bathing became popular due to high costs of swimsuits with men congregating on Siwash Rock in Stanley Park, to escape the puritanicalist oppression of local residents, they then flocked to Wreck Beach. The beach increased in popularity with hippies until the late 1960s when a police raid in 1970 yielded a dozen arrests. The Georgia Straight (Vancouverr newspaper) staged a nude-in protest with 3,000 showing up and the charges were dropped, with the police designating the area as a "no-harm, no-foul zone" until 1991 when it was officially designated a legally recognised nudist beach

Mir gefällt der Bildaufbau mit den Baumstämmen und dem Ufer. Der Blick wird schön auf das Wasser und den Himmel gelenkt. Unterstrichen wird die Wirkung durch das Licht auf den Stämmen. Die Lichtstimmung rundet dieses Foto einer winterlichen Landschaft schön ab.

La plage est sombre sous ce ciel d'orage, les troncs d'arbres coupés sont en attente de transport sur le sable et les roches qui bordent la surface de l'eau sont arborées sur les pentes: l'ambiance est palpable, brrrr...Une photo d'atmosphère très réussie, GRAND BRAVO Adele! Finally, nudist beachgoers would be given a little justice. Who doesn't like that should not go there. Live and Let Live!
You photographed the beach from a very good angle and i imagine that you jumped into the water afterwards.

  thank you, dear Ibi .... but I just took this photo at the end of November ... a bit too cold to be naked, and that Pacific Ocean water is cool even most days of Summer :-)))

elle est très belle cette plage, et ton histoire me rappelle une autre plage où les jeunes se rassemblaient aussi pour profiter de l'eau, de la plage, mais .. nus ! ce qui n'a pas plu aux puritains d'un hameau voisin ... Bises

  Merci, Francoise ... la beauté de la plage de Wreck est qu’elle est si isolée et ne peut être atteinte que par ces près de 500 marches qui descendent - et remontent, et les bois denses ne permettent pas une vue sur la plage :-))) isolée et presque privée ....:-)))
