Winnie the Hoo
This Great Horned owl was struck by a car in Illinois and got caught in the grill and not discovered until the driver stopped in Georgia, a good 10 hours after the accident! We had to amputate her left wing from the wrist down, so she will spend the rest of her life in captivity. This photo was taken shortly after I picked her up from hospital. She is not a happy camper, but has settled in nicely and is actually quite tolerant, considering everything she has been through. After all, how would YOU feel???
