Tsaritsyno

The estate is known from the late 16th century, when it belonged to Tsarina Irina.
It operates as a museum and includes a great number of pavilions and palaces constructed especially for the empress, Ekaterina II. Unfortunately, she didn’t like the architecture and ordered the rebuilding of the residence once more. But after her death this architectural idea was not completed.
Today Tsaritsino is a restored museum-reserve and also a decorative monument to history and culture.
